About MAYUMI
Mayumi grew up in Sydney and moved to Melbourne at the age of 18. She had a happy upbringing where her parents allowed her to learn lots of hobbies outside of school. She learned violin, flute, drums, guitar, ballet, jazz ballet, tap, karate, and as a teenager she took drama, musical theatre and circus classes at Sydney Theatre Company.
Mayumi Mullins, her biggest solo musician project, was initiated by a time when she was a music student studying Bachelor of Music. She has always considered herself to be fortunate in the things that have happened for her in the world of music, from her early childhood until now. At the age of ten, she had the opportunity to sing in a choir at the Sydney Opera House. One of the songs she and the other children sang inspired her, she still remembers it well. The song was called “Galah Song”.
She has three qualifications in music: Bachelor of Music (Victoria University), BMUs Honours (The University of Melbourne) and an Undergraduate Certificate of Songwriting and Music Production (Melbourne Polytechnic). She is currently pursuing a degree and occupation in Sustainability and Environment.
Mayumi is an introvert who spends her life at home, dreaming, reading, writing, playing violin and making art on AI. Writing short stories is a new and exciting outlet for her, in her room where anything can happen.
